Prayer of the week
Father God, we praise you for your love for all people and for sending Jesus to be the Saviour of the world. Help us to share this love with others. We pray for the people of our city and beyond. By your Spirit prepare their hearts to respond to your Word and put their trust in you. As we connect with them, may they connect with you, and find the joy of sins forgiven and life eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Fear Vs Faith

Fear Has to Leave

In her book of devotions, Not I, But Christ, holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom wrote, “When I was in a concentration camp I did not know that I would be one of the twenty percent of women who left it alive. I looked death in the eyes. When we touch eternity we see all things so simply. It was as if I saw the devil so much stronger than I. But then I saw Jesus, who is so much stronger than the devil, and together with Him I am much stronger than the devil. Then fear has to leave. Those who are with us are more and stronger than those who are against us. ‘Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4).”

Over the last months, many people put their fear aside and trusted God in their visitation with Connect 09. – Well done!

Some folk recently put their fear aside and have given generously to our Thanksgiving Month. - Well done!

What is good about trusting God is that we want to trust Him more and more and fear becomes less and less.

That’s what it means to live by faith.

Even though we don’t think we can, when we take that leap of faith and remember God is on our side, we grow strong and fear less.
